LINK: tinyurl.com Chuck Berry (Charles Edward Anderson Berry - born October 18, 1926, St. Louis, Missouri, USA), singer, composer and guitarist, one of the most popular and influential artists in rock and rhythm and blues was -roll and in music, 1950's 60's and 70's. Raised in a working class African-AmericanDistrict in the north of the city highly segregated St. Louis, Berry grew up in a family are proud of their African-Americans and Native Americans. He gained early exposure to music through his family's participation in the choir of the Antioch Baptist Church, through the blues and country western music he heard on the radio and through music classes, particularly at the Sumner High School. Berry was still in high school when he was sent to serve three years for armed robberyMissouri prison for young offenders. After his release and return to St. Louis, he worked at a car plant, studied hairdressing, and played in small clubs. Berry traveled to Chicago in search of a record deal, Muddy Waters directed him to the Chess brothers.
